Concealer is an essential element of my daily process because I have hereditary dark circles. Although I’m happy with my current concealers, Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer (for special occasions), or nude mineral Container (for everyday use), I’m always looking for better and more effective options. The Tarte Shape Tape Concealer will be the subject of this review.

My Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer Experience
Packaging and Applicator
The cap of the concealer tube looks very cute. The applicator has a large surface area, which is more than any other concealers I’ve used. It can be utilized to a certain extent. You don’t have to keep dipping the wand back and forth to acquire the additional product.
Texture/Consistency
This concealer is thick and not thin. It is thick so it can feel heavy on the skin. However, it provides adequate coverage and does not crease or settle.
It mixes easily and fast. It quickly sets, so I have to be quick. I prefer to smooth it out using a Beauty Blender, and I haven’t had any issues with it being patchy or not providing even coverage.
Coverage
This concealer has full coverage and is pigmented. It is even more pigmented than the UD Nude concealer, which I think is so much better. The thinnest layer (hence, a little goes far) gives me super opaque coverage that doesn’t require a corrector. This can be used to cover dark circles and blemishes. For those who don’t like heavy-duty coverage, this might be a problem.
It sits easily on its own so I don’t feel like it needs to be set with powder. This concealer is not suitable for baking as it drys down so matte and dry that adding the powder to the area would make it look cakey and dry. At most, I’ll apply a small dusting of powder (my favorite is the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush flawless finish powder) and I’m ready to go.
Finish
The finish of this concealer is matte.
Shade
I am wearing the shade “Light Medium“, which matches my skin, but Tarte shape tape contour concealer light is a little too yellow. It’s not a problem for me as I use it to highlight.
Its incredible staying power has been what impressed me most about this concealer. This Tarte shape tape contour concealer light-medium concealer does not fade, crease, or get shiny. I have used it for 8-9 hours. As a reference, my eye area is normal to oily.
Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer Pros & Cons
Overall
Overall, I love this Tarte shape tape contour concealer. It could easily replace my UD Skin Care Concealer, although I still love it. However, the Tarte Concealer’s lasting power gives it an advantage over my UD one. I’d be delighted to propose Tarte shape tape concealer to others. This is an excellent product.
Which shade am I in the tarte shape tape contour concealer?
An under-eye concealer, which generally conceals a "blue" under eye, should be salmon in colour. Because my under-eye discoloration is rather dark, I use a medium salmon concealer. I enjoy Make Up For Ever's #40, Eve Pearl's Medium Salmon Concealer, and FIRST's Conceal/Correct palette, which is available for distribution to the continental United States on our website.
